What if the greatest concerts in history had happened in Mauritius? That’s the premise of ROCK BD, a travelling exhibition created by French illustrator Hippolyte from Reunion Island — inviting local artists in each country to draw posters for imaginary gigs that never happened but absolutely should have. Hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind concert posters for shows we’ll never attend but can almost hear.
BD Muzik was the Mauritian chapter, produced in partnership with the Institut Français de Maurice in 2018, and it remains one of those projects where the brief was pure joy: pick a dream concert, draw the poster, hang it on a wall next to other artists doing the same thing. The kind of work that reminds you why you started drawing in the first place.
